Brazier: Nonfiction Text Structures. Climactic scenes of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.

Kornas: Independent reading and running records.

Martinez: Informational texts are structured.  Problem/Solution is another kind of structure.

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber:  “Writers use prompts to teach about their topics.”

Brazier: “Informational writing links like ideas.”

Kornas:  Writing a summary for non-fiction text.

Martinez: “Informational writers think about information they are missing.  They do research to fill in the gaps.”
