MATH

READING WORKSHOP
* While there is no At-Home Reading Log in grade five, nightly reading of just-right, student-selected text is essential.

Barber: “Readers analyze reading logs.”

Brazier: “Readers appreciate vivid images.” In-class assignment. Online reading comprehension quiz.
* HOMEWORK: PAGES 1-6 (only) OF THE PINK PACKET.

Kornas:  “Readers know how to pick out just-right books.”

Martinez: “Readers pick up the pace of their reading to read as much as they can.”

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Writers collect vivid images.”

Brazier: “Writers attempt different types of writing.”
*ASK: “What types of writing entries have you generated so far in your writer’s notebook? What else might you try?”

Kornas: “Writers think about special people to generate ideas.”
HOMEWORK: FAMILY STORIES WRITING SHEET (PINK).  DUE MONDAY.

Martinez: Students decorated their writer’s notebook and spent time working on their current entry.
