SPELLING

Barber: Students have personalized words, in addition to 5 of the frequently misspelled words.
* OFFICIAL CLASSROOM SPELLING BEE ON DECEMBER 16. TO PREPARE, STUDY THE ORANGE LIST OF WORDS HANDED OUT IN CLASS.

Kornas:  Created a new spelling list for next week.
HOMEWORK: START STUDYING FOR SPELLING TEST ON THURSDAY.
*CLASS SPELLING BEE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 15TH.  

Martinez:
*CONTINUE STUDYING TO PREPARE FOR THE FIFTH GRADE SPELLING BEE.

READING WORKSHOP

Brazier: “Readers form theories about characters.” End of novel quiz on The Great Gilly Hopkins.

Kornas: Practice writing character theory with reading partner (Gilly).

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber:  Work day & free write.  Teacher conference time.

Brazier: “Writers don’t just ‘slap on’ a title.”
* ASK: “What other titles did you consider before opting for the one you did? Why you did ultimately choose what you did?”
* HOMEWORK: SHARE WITH MR. B THE FINAL VERSION OF YOUR ‘PUBLISHED’ PERSONAL NARRATIVE, VIA GOOGLE DRIVE, BEFORE MONDAY MORNING.

Kornas: Noun/Adjective poem.
