ANNOUNCEMENTS

SPELLING
Barber -
* Spelling test Thursday on the following commonly misspelled words: government, restaurant, guarantee, rhythm, schedule.

Martinez -
* Spelling test Friday on the following commonly misspelled words: accidentally, excitement, disease,  privilege, probably,  truly, ridiculous, receive, recommend, desperate

Kornas -  Spelling test tomorrow.
MATH

No math today because of the Spelling Bee / Late Start


SOCIAL STUDIES

READING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Reading partners revise their plan.”  

Brazier: “Reading partners often revise their initial plan.” Thinking Routine regarding reading partnerships.
* ASK: “What are you learning about a character you’re studying in your Partnership book? What are you learning about your partner as a reader?”

Kornas:  “Reading partners revise their plan.”

* ASK: “What seems important in your Partnership book?  What makes you say that?”

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Poets put images in your mind.”
* HOMEWORK: COPYCHANGE “dog.” FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE WORKSHEET HANDED OUT IN CLASS. DUE TOMORROW.

Brazier: “Poets, like all writers, employ power verbs.”
* HOMEWORK: COPYCHANGE “dog.” FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE WORKSHEET HANDED OUT IN CLASS. DUE TOMORROW. Students: Ask yourself, “Is this word the most powerful verb (adverb, adjective, etc.) I can think of?”
