ANNOUNCEMENTS

MATH

Barber: Area Model of Multiplication & Powers of Ten.

Brazier: Daily Practice Problems. Number Talk. Area Model of Multiplication.
* ASK: “First, think of all the ways you can mentally solve 21 * 11. (Wait for at least two minutes before continuing. This is Think Time. ) Then, explain each method to me using paper and pencil.”  As a class, we came up with six solid ways to mentally compute this multiplication equation.

Martinez: Area Model of Multiplication & Powers of Ten.

READING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Jots cement and extend understandings.”

Brazier: Independent Reading and Jotting. Formal Reading Assessments will occur for the next few weeks.

*HOMEWORK: Continue working on your solar journal.  Record the sunrise and sunset when you are in “your spot.”
