Friday January 10th!

MATH

Barber- Strand 4 Division begins.  Continue work from SG pages 102-104 and the yellow packet.  HOMEWORK: YELLOW PACKET PAGE 51 # 1-4 ONLY!

Brazier- Order of Operations (PEMDAS)

Kornas -  HW - #4-6 in yellow packet (Finding Area).  You must explain your thinking on the back of the page or on another sheet of paper for #4, 5 and 6. Reminder- for #5 - you must use a number sentence to solve it, you can’t just count the squares.

HOMEWORK FOR ALL: “WINTER BREAK PRACTICE PACKET.” COMPLETE AND CORRECT IT BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2014. (ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.)

HOMEWORK: REVIEW GRADED HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT AND ANSWER ON AN INDEX CARD THE 2 QUESTIONS POSED IN CLASS:  (1) SUMMARIZE MR. B’S FEEDBACK and (2) WHAT IS ONE THING I’M GOING TO TRY TO DO THE NEXT TIME I WRITE A PARAGRAPH ABOUT THE CHARACTER I’M STUDYING? A PARENT SIGNATURE IS ALSO REQUIRED.

WRITING WORKSHOPS

BARBER: Free write Friday or work on revising of personal narratives.

BRAZIER: A mini unit on revising personal narratives began today. We studied the “rubric” that outlines what it takes to write a narrative at the fifth grade level (FYI, parents: it’s a lot harder than it used to be!). We also analyzed Jordan Lewis’s very fine published piece.
