Barber- Go over yellow packet homework. Estimate area of odd shapes. Determine the length and width of a shape with a given area. HOMEWORK: COMPLETE YELLOW PACKET & DRAW THE SHAPE WITH THE AREA 28 sq cm & 10 sq cm. DUE TUESDAY!
Brazier- We shared some strategies for solving 2X2 multiplication problems without the aid of paper. Ask your child: What is 38 * 11? We applied our understanding of the order of operations rule (PEMDAS) with a fun and challenging game entitled “24:” Ask about it!
Kornas - HW - COMPLETE #4-6 IF YOU DID NOT HAVE IT DONE TODAY. STUDY DIVISION NOTES. THERE WILL BE A QUIZ OVER THE DIVISION VOCABULARY TOMORROW. (I handed out notes over AREA and DIVISION today. They should be housed in the notes section of the Planner Binder.)

WRITING WORKSHOPS
BARBER: Revising personal narratives, begin looking at leads on rubric. Students may need to finish drafting new leads at home for homework. Tuesday we will look at transitions.
BRAZIER: A mini unit on revising personal narratives continued today. We studied the “rubric” that outlines what it takes to write a narrative at the fifth grade level.
