WELCOME BACK!

MATH

Barber- Strand 4 Division begins.  Finding the area of shapes in two different ways. HINT: learning the formula for finding area.  

Brazier- Strand 4 review, with an emphasis on (a) Order of Operations (PEMDAS), (b) Division With Decimals, and (c) Interpreting Remainders. Strand 4 DPP due tomorrow.

Kornas -  Strand 4: Division began today.  Strragtegies for finding area.  HW-PAGE 105 #2-4 ON GRID PAPER. PLEASE PUT PROPER HEADING ON PAPER.

HOMEWORK FOR ALL: “WINTER BREAK PRACTICE PACKET.” COMPLETE AND CORRECT IT BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2014. (ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.)

Word Masters: (Teacher - Mrs. Kornas): WORDMASTER POSTER DUE TOMORROW (UNLESS STUDENT HAS TALKED TO ME PRIVATELY. IF YOU ARE PRESENTING TOMORROW….REHEARSE, REHEARSE, REHEARSE!!  Presentations of words will begin tomorrow.  Students have been given the rubrics to help them prepare for the the oral presentation and for putting the final touches on the poster.

Spelling: (Teacher - Mrs. Barber): Students will use this time to complete word masters work and begin presenting Friday.

Social Studies: (Teacher - Mrs. Barber): Chapter 5 will begin Jan. 21st

WRITING WORKSHOPS


BARBER: Students will look over Personal Narrative rubrics on two scored papers.  They will then choose one piece to revise.  

BRAZIER: Computer lab visit / writing exercises

KORNAS: Writing?? I haven’t seen these kids in three weeks...we talked about how we all spent our holiday break.  :-)  Tomorrow we get back to writing workshop!
