MATH
All students will take a math test tomorrow. The results of this test will be considered when placing students in a grade 6 math class at SMS.
Barber- CFP 6-2. HOMEWORK: FRACTION SUBTRACTION 1-3, STUDENTS MAY USE CALCULATOR TO FIND LCM.
Brazier- We used ‘benchmarks’ to make solid estimates involving fractions. To apply this idea, we played a game (described on page 6 of the new textbook) called “Getting Closer.”
HOMEWORK: ACE PROBLEMS 3-15 ON PAGE 10. LABEL ALL PROBLEMS. HIGHLIGHT ALL ANSWERS. PROVIDE WRITTEN EXPLANATIONS FOR 3-5 and 13-15.
Kornas- Adding mixed numbers. HW - COMPLETE THE DIVISION PRACTICE SHEET AND DO EXAMPLE PROBLEM #2 ON NOTES SHEET. BOTH DUE TOMORROW.

Reading: (Teacher - Mr. Brazier): Book Club Meetings - an opportunity to put into practice the five tips for ‘going deeper’ with Book Club Talk
Science: (Teacher - Mrs. Kornas): Completed activity 2. Took notes over vocabulary words for activity 1 and 2. H.W. - START LEARNING THE 9 NEW VOCABULARY WORDS.
