SPELLING
The BLE Spelling Bee will take place on January 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The top five spellers from each grade five classroom (as determined by a classroom competition to occur in December) will take part.
Brazier: Test on the 25 Commonly Misspelled Words.

Kornas Switch 1 and 2: Seasons quiz. Made a model and used seasons “buzz words” with a partner.
READING WORKSHOP
Barber: “Readers notice character’s struggles.”
Brazier: “Readers pay close attention to a character’s struggles.”
Kornas: Worked in groups to develop a theory about Via.
Martinez: “Readers notice when characters act in surprising ways to learn more about them.”
WRITING WORKSHOP

Brazier: “Writers elaborate with words, thoughts, and actions.”

* HOMEWORK: STUDENTS SHOULD TYPE THEIR PERSONAL NARRATIVES. DUE MONDAY. THIS IS NOT A FINAL COPY. WE STILL HAVE PLENTY OF WORK TO DO IN CLASS. A PRINTED COPY MAKES IT EASIER TO MAKE REVISIONS. STUDENTS HAVE STARTED ON GOOGLE DRIVE ALREADY. IT CAN BE SENT TO ME TO PRINT.
