Brazier - Switch 1: CFP #3.

*ASK: “There was an especially difficult problem on today’s CFP. How did you manage to ultimately make sense of the problem?”

Brazier - Switch 2: Textbook pages 248-251. Multiplying Decimals using an area model.
*CFP #3 ON TUESDAY
* HOMEWORK: STUDENT GUIDE PAGE 251, NUMBERS 1-5. (A copy of this textbook page was handed out in class.) DUE TOMORROW.

Martinez - Switch 1: Multiplying decimals.  Worked on textbook pages 247-250.
* HOMEWORK: FINISH DPP PACKET. DUE TOMORROW.

Martinez - Switch 2:  Multiplying decimals.  Worked on textbook pages 247-250.
* HOMEWORK: DO DPP K,L,M,Q AND R.  DUE TOMORROW.

SCIENCE

Barber Switch 1 and 2:  Video clip on solar eclipse and shared read reviewing the two types of eclipse.

Kornas Switch 1: Solar Eclipse video.  Graphing Solar Eclipses.

READING WORKSHOP
Barber: Continue studying how other characters act towards our character and what it reveals.

Brazier: Character Study continues: “Readers pay attention to a character’s beloved object(s).”

Kornas: “Readers notice how other characters treat the main character.”

Martinez:”Readers pay attention to the actions and choices of a character.”

WRITING WORKSHOP
Barber: Work day in computer lab.  

Brazier: No writing today: Our work with The Great Gilly Hopkins (which included a lot of writing) went long.

Kornas: Created ‘Guide to be a  P.N. Writer’ strategies folder.
Ask* “What icons did you chose to represent each strategy on your folder?”
HOMEWORK: THINK ABOUT WHICH PERSONAL NARRATIVE PIECE YOU WOULD LIKE TO COMMIT TO FOR PUBLISHING. BE READY TO SHARE WITH MS. KOWALCZYK FRIDAY.

Martinez: “Writers act out their stories to help them draft a new lead.”
