READING WORKSHOP

* ASK: “Tell me about a time in Number the Stars when the story strayed from the here-and-now, that is, when the story harkened back to events that had already occurred.”
Kornas: Book Club reading for 30 minutes.

WRITING WORKSHOP
Barber: “Writers can say a lot about their opinions.”
Brazier: “Opinion writers study other opinion texts.”
*ASK: “What is something you noticed from another opinion text that you may want to include in your own opinion writing?”
Kornas: WordMasters: Students were assigned a word to research. Research sheet is due tomorrow morning. Expectations for this assignment were talked about in great length in class today and yesterday. They have an example of how to fill out the sheet in their planner binder for the word bridge.
