Thursday May 8th

Music Performance Information:  On Monday, May 12th, the students need to arrive in the gym area by 6:45 p.m. Clothing should be “dressy casual,” but no sweaters or heavy clothes, as it does get hot on stage. Boys might don khakis, button downs, polo shirts, or dress slacks. Girls might wear skirts, dresses, or blouses.

MATH

Barber-  Completion of the Flatsville town!  Ask your child about the polygons that they learned.
 
Brazier-  Modeling the multiplication of fractions

SWITCHES


Reading: “Readers notice and use new vocabulary.”
HOMEWORK: USE A NEW VOCABULARY WORD FROM TODAY’S READING WITH SOMEONE AT HOME.

Science: Activity Lab #10 - Come-Back Can - Studied kinetic energy, potential energy, and elastic potential energy.  HOMEWORK - STUDY NEW VOCABULARY WORDS.

Spelling:

Social Studies:  Wrapping up chapter 9. In class assessment. No studying needed.
HOMEWORK: CONTINUE RESEARCHING AT HOME FOR THE WAX MUSEUM ON MAY 21.


WRITING WORKSHOPS

BARBER / BRAZIER (joint mini lesson today): “Readers constantly ask themselves questions about their imagined audience.”

KORNAS: Focus on one heading and write every detail regarding that specific part of your topic. (Ask about how I explained it using my topic: softball - batting)
