ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Field Trip Permission Slips are due tomorrow. There is a purple form and also a yellow one.

WORD STUDY

Barber:  Work on researching one’s Wordmasters word.

Brazier: Researching one’s Word Masters word.
ASK: “What did you learn today about your word?”
* SPELLING TEST TOMORROW

Kornas: Several WordMasters presentations today.  We put a yellow WM folder together that includes notes on all the word master words..

Martinez: Wrapping up dictionary skills.

Barber: Wrap Activity 8 wrap up and do Activity 10: the Comeback Can.

Kornas:  Activity 11-Action-Reaction in Action: Newton’s Third Law of Motion.
HOMEWORK: EXPLAIN NEWTON’S THIRD LAW OF MOTION TO YOUR PARENTS. REFERENCE THE SPRING JUMPERS OR PING-PONG BALL AS YOU EXPLAIN.


READING WORKSHOP
Barber: DRA packet complete.

Brazier: DRA Nonfiction Summary-writing Strategy: Write the summary in chunks, using the headings as guides.

Martinez: Independent Reading.  Running Records.

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber:  “Nonfiction writing is organized.”

Brazier: “Informational writing is highly organized.”

Kornas: Create categories/sections for a topic of high interest and write all they know about that category.
HOMEWORK:  THINK OF A NON-FICTION TOPIC THAT YOU ARE VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT AND INTERESTED IN SPENDING THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR WRITING ABOUT.
