Barber: Strand 7 Investigation 4 (Dividing With Fractions)

Brazier: Reflecting on Strand 7, Investigation 3 (Multiplying Fractions).  Introducing Dividing With Fractions.
* ASK: “When you do the division 12 / 5, what does the answer mean?” (The answer reveals the number of fives in 12 wholes.)

Martinez: Multiplying mixed numbers.
* HOMEWORK: Correct your mistakes on the multiplication test that went home today.


READING WORKSHOP
Barber: “Complex text readers search all around the word for meaning.”

Brazier: What Makes Complex Nonfiction Hard to Read (the headings and subheadings don’t help or are misleading; there are several main ideas; and the central and main ideas are implicit)

Martinez: “Nonfiction readers use strategies to find multiple main ideas in a text.”


WRITING WORKSHOP

(B) WRITE, 10 TIMES EACH, ANY OF THE 6 WORDS SPELLED INCORRECTLY ON THE BOTTOM PART OF THE TEST (visible; loyalty; tunnel; tumor; sailor; village)
