Thursday February 13th

MATH

Barber- Student lead teaching of the traditional method.  Please continue to review these steps.  Weekly review for our class is due Friday February 21st!  CFP FRIDAY 2/21!

Brazier- The Factor Game. Consider asking your fifth grader to teach you how to play. As and after you play, talk about strategies for winning.

Kornas- CFP TOMORROW.  H.W. - DO THE FOLLOWING THREE PROBLEMS.

BE SURE TO DO A FRIENDLY ESTIMATE FOR EACH, THEN SOLVE AND THEN DO THE CHECK. (CFP WILL COVER Division - ONE DIGIT DIVISOR, TWO DIGIT DIVISORS, WORD PROBLEMS, KNOW PROCESS TO FIND MEAN AND MEDIAN.)

SWITCHES

Reading: (Teacher - Mr. Brazier): Independent Reading + “Reading Conferences”

Science: (Teacher - Mrs. Kornas): Create bar graph for Vital Capacity data.
Complete Activity 5A   SCIENCE TEST ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21st.  (Students were given a blue packet of notes to start studying.  Text books are also available for students check out to bring home over the break.

Spelling: (Teacher - Mrs. Barber): Spelling test today on WM.  

Social Studies: (Teacher - Mrs. Barber):  We will begin chapter 6 next Wednesday.

WRITING WORKSHOPS

BARBER: Persuasive Essay: Share Day! Picked our strongest reason to support our claim and used “for example” to PROVE IT!

BRAZIER: “The ‘body’ paragraphs of essays are about one reason [that’s in support of one’s claim].”

KORNAS:  Writing Workshop Notebook Entry.
