READING WORKSHOP
Barber: “Readers step inside and outside their characters.” Continue building theories.

Brazier: ““Readers step inside and outside their texts.”
*HOMEWORK: DISCUSS READING LOG #2 WITH A PARENT/GUARDIAN. RETURN IT TOMORROW, SIGNED.
*ASK: “Did you “zoom in” or did you “zoom out” today during independent reading time? Tell me about it.”

Kornas: “Readers step inside and outside their texts”

Martinez: “Readers step inside and outside their texts.”

WRITING WORKSHOP
Barber: “Writers use dialogue sparingly.”

Brazier: “Writers use concrete details (to make their narratives come alive).”
*ASK: “What’s the difference between a concrete and an abstract word? What’s an example of a concrete detail in Mr. B’s story about his daughter’s Poop Explosion? (Maybe I just answered my own question?)”  

Kornas: “Writers observe the world as writers.”
HOMEWORK: ALL STUDENTS NEED TO COMPLETE HIS/HER ENTRY ON HIS/HER GOOGLE DOCUMENT TONIGHT. (STUDENTS BEGAN THIS IN THE COMPUTER LAB TODAY.)
