Barber: New words: millionaire, exaggerate, ridiculous, proceed and conscious.
*TEST THURSDAY.

MATH

Brazier - Switch One: Strand 5 Test.
* HOMEWORK: STRAND 5 DPP DUE MONDAY

Brazier - Switch Two: Investigating and classifying quadrilaterals.
ASK: “What are the properties of a trapezoid?”

Martinez - Switch One: Investigating and classifying quadrilaterals

SOCIAL STUDIES
Barber: Students teach students about their chapter 10 section. The focus is on how British rule affects the colonies.

READING WORKSHOP
Barber:  “Readers look through a lens.” use a lens in own book clubs.

Brazier: More tips on how to hold a successful book club meeting
* QUIZ ON CHAPTER 10 OF NUMBER THE STARS ON MONDAY. We strongly recommend all students re-read chapter 10 at least once during the long weekend.

Kornas: Work on student-led conference.

Martinez: Book Club Meeting.  Reading Test.


WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Opinion writers use their best evidence to support a reason.” WORK DAY

Brazier: “Evidence follows reasons in opinion writing.”
ASK: “What is a REASON for your CLAIM? How will you set out to  PROVE IT? (In other words, what EVIDENCE will you include?”)

Kornas: Work on student-led conference.

Martinez: “Writers of essays group similar ideas together.”

HOMEWORK: HAVE AN OPINION WITH AT LEAST THREE GOOD REASONS READY FOR MONDAY.
