March 4th

ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Students visit CHS for musical field trip.
  • Student-led conferences will be held March 16th and 18th.

SPELLING
Barber: Suffix rules -tion & -ment:  Include 5 words from last tests of suffix words.
Words: encouragement, department, enjoyment, corruption, function.
* TEST THURSDAY.

Brazier:
* PERSONALIZED SPELLING TEST ON FRIDAY (LISTS 3, 6, and 9)

Kornas: Spelling sentences need to be reviewed by parents and signed.
* PERSONALIZED SPELLING TEST ON FRIDAY.

Martinez:
* SPELLING TEST ON FRIDAY.  STUDY LISTS 4 AND 9 (scissors, committee, separate, definitely, physical)

READING WORKSHOP

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber: “Opinion writers sort ideas about their opinions (look for the patterns).”

Brazier: “Writers organize ‘body’ paragraphs in predictable ways.”
* ASK: “How do the ‘body’ paragraphs of opinion essays tend to go?”

Kornas: “Writers write about topics they can support”

Martinez: “Writers explore the opinions they are passionate about.”
