* ASK: “Is the order of the dimensions relevant in describing the shape of a box?”

* ASK: “Draw a convex polygon next to a concave one. How are they similar? How are they different?”

Brazier: “Readers pay close attention to bits that surprise us [because those surprising bits are often sources of epiphanies, of new realizations].
* ASK: “What surprised you during the concluding pages of Number the Stars? Let’s talk and think about those bits that are still with you.”

Kornas: Independent Reading and IB Book Club.

Martinez:”Thoughtful readers pause as they encounter important parts.  They consider why they are significant.”

WRITING WORKSHOP

Barber: No writing
*HOMEWORK: BRING IN OR SHARE TWO PIECES OF RESEARCH EVIDENCE BY MONDAY.  

Brazier: “Writers include research/evidence to further develop their opinion pieces.”
* ASK: (1) “How are you keeping track of the research you’re coming across?” and (2) “List at least five kinds of evidence sources that one might include in an opinion piece.”
