WRITING WORKSHOP


Barber: “Writers use counterclaims ‘give hope, but slam it home’.”   


Brazier: “Opinion writers use hooks in the lead.”
* ASK: “How did the author of Happiness is...a Pet use a hook? How is your writing partner attempting to hook his/her imagined audience? How will you try to hook ‘em in?”
* HOMEWORK: FINALIZE YOUR INTRODUCTION THEN SHARE IT ELECTRONICALLY WITH MR. BRAZIER. INCLUDE A MESSAGE TO HIM WHEREIN YOU POINT OUT SOMETHING YOU DID TO MAKE YOUR WRITING WORK.


Kornas: “Opinion writers seek out multiple sources of evidence.”
HOMEWORK:  ON AN INDEX CARD WRITE 2 DIFFERENT TOPICS YOU ARE WILLING TO COMMIT TO ALONG WITH 3 STRONG REASONS FOR EACH. DUE TOMORROW MORNING.
